Assigning weights under the Auto-Match tab will customize the algorithm that is used to auto-generate matches based on match recommendations and assigned specialties as you set them up. Weights must be checked to be considered in the matching generation.
The Match Recommendations weight utilizes Recommended Matches submitted by users.
Once the item is selected, you can assign the weight amount from 1 to 10. The higher the weight is, like the example above, the more important it is in generating matches. The lower it is, the less important it is. A low number will still be used to generate matches but may be outweighed by a more important item you selected.
The remaining options are all of the specialties you previously assigned. You must select the specialty for it to be used in the Auto-Match algorithm. In the following example, only Einstein specialties and Deep Zone specialties would be considered.
When using multiple specialties like the example above, the specialty with the highest weight will be matched. For example. If the PNM has a 3.9 GPA and is attending preference round, the PNM will more likely be matched to the chapter member with the Deep Zone specialty than Einstein because of their varying weights.
